The Manchurian Wapiti is represented by numerous species in Primorye and Khabarovsk Krai. The largest species with massive and hard horns inhabit the elevated areas of Sikhote Alin and the adjacent spurs. The most successful time for the hunting starts during the mating season in the beginning of September, 2-3 weeks earlier comparing to Siberian hunting season. Male wapities have harems of multiple females, up to 8 individuals. The mating season lasts for 3 weeks quite actively. The hunting seasons are carried out from September, 1 to September, 30; from November, 1 to January, 15.
